Just when I thought my death plate was full, Exhumation plopped itself on top of the heap, right on top of my chicken parm.
The riffs and song structure of this album are just too good to dismiss it as "another standard death metal album." The songs are oldschool style Death metal, with slight thrash tendencies and even a hint of black metal. Songs are fast paced with pummeling riffs, yet the change-ups in tempo from time to time keep it interesting.

Death Metal by EXHUMATION deserves the term „classical“: It is sinister, clanging and evil. The Eastern Asian roots are undeniable, but now the music is darker than ever before.
The album offers an improved sound quality and reminds the listener of the legendary MAYHEM line-up, early DEICIDE or the occult songs of UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN.
Modern metal tends to go ways not everyone is fond of. But change is not always equal to more progression or mixing of genres.
Now EXHUMATION’s second opus is ready, and it is colder and more pitiless than the first release. Still it relies on its Eastern Asian roots; but now they are buried underneath a thick layer of classical Death Metal which has an uncanny resemblance to the Black Metal of the late 80s.

An astonishingly heavy offering of cosmic, death-tinged technical thrash metal. A lot of tech thrash forgoes meat and aggression for diddly-diddly limpwristed tech licks but holy shit this is brutal. At points it’s like Demolition Hammer in a UFO. Easily the best modern thrash record out there.
